Vlaanderen
Part 1: The Beginning
On the 04 March 2005 a Knight entered the Realm of Adarkis. After days of traveling the lands of Adarkis through forests and woods, crossing rivers and mountains, he claimed a piece of land. Days past by, setting the borders of his land. Once done, he founded his Kingdom. The proclamation of the Vlaanderen Kingdom followed as a fact and he crowned himself as King of Vlaanderen, King Duke of Doom.
Wandering Vassals from all over the Realm of Adarkis, found their way to the Kingdom of Vlaanderen. Duke Wiki was one of his first Vassals and is still a loyal Vassal of Vlaanderen. Duke Audreytje69 became his Royal Ambassador. Baron Nigel was his spy and Royal Joker. Many other honourable Lords swore fealty to him. Several months later his son, Knight Lord Legolas Pendragon, Paladin of Tyr; joined Vlaanderen too. He had followed the tracks of his father through the woods and mountains of Adarkis.
Vlaanderen became the first ally of Rome. Vlaanderen fought many battles aside Rome. Vlaanderen grew bigger and bigger, so King Duke sent out his son to look for another piece of land. The Kingdom Vlaanderen II was proclaimed and he crowned his son as High King of Vlaanderen II. Herewith Vlaanderen Empire was a fact.
Many alliances were sealed. One not to overlook, was the alliance with Helkath-Hazzurim. From that moment forward you could see on many battlefields the banners of Rome, Helkath-Hazzurim and Vlaanderen, side by side. To the south Emperor Duke of Doom sealed an alliance with the Iron Crusaders. The Iron Crusaders became the first unconditional allies of Vlaanderen through their Manifest (Manifest of The Iron Crusaders and The Vlaanderen Empire). On his journey through the southern lands of Adarkis, Imperial Ambassador Audreytje69 met King Bocardim of Kullcheñmaiwe.
King Bocardim swore fealty to Emperor Duke of Doom and became part of Vlaanderen Empire.
Weeks later, due the expansion of both Vlaanderen Kingdoms, the Kingdom of Vlaanderen III was proclaimed and reigned by King Jan Breydel. A sneak attack at night on King Jan Breydel, followed by his death, destroyed this young Kingdom and was left in ruins. Dishonourable Lords and Morons occupied the ruins of Vlaanderen III. One day, a young and brave Knight appeared at the gates of the Castle of the Former King of Vlaanderen III. He swore fealty to Emperor Duke of Doom and was crowned to High King ShadowPanther of Vlaanderen III.
On his journey through the western lands of Adarkis, Imperial Ambassador Audreytje69 met King Flying Fiddler of The Tuatha De Danaan. King Flying Fiddler pledged fealty to Emperor Duke of Doom and became part of Vlaanderen Empire. On his journey through the northern lands of Adarkis, Imperial Ambassador Audreytje69 met Imperial Ambassador Eirikpeirik of the Clostridian Empire. In the meantime Imperial Ambassador Audreytje69 became Duke of West-Vlaanderen and by this legitimated to found his own Kingdom, which he did. Kingdom Miliana was founded and Duke Audreytje69 crowned as King of Miliana. Due their independent character they became a protectorate of the Vlaanderen Empire. A meeting was set up between Emperor Carthaginian and Emperor Duke of Doom, assisted by their representative Imperial Ambassadors Eirikpeirik and Duke Papillon. The Clostridian Empire and Vlaanderen Empire were merged together and the Order of Templar Knights was created (Manifest of the Order of Templar Knights).
The two Empires remained independent and ruled by their respective Emperors. All Empires, Kingdoms and/or Vassals who swore fealty to the oath of the Order of Templar Knights, remained independent. Each member of the Order of Templar Knights continued their own path of faith and politics. Only due their membership of the Order of Templar Knights they were allied to each other. Baron Darkronin of Vlaanderen II felt the urge of founding a Kingdom too. He asked permission to his Lords and the permission was granted. The Kingdom of The Archangels` Land was founded as a protectorate of Vlaanderen Empire. In the meantime Miliana expanded his territory overseas and founded on Elderis the Kingdom Zanarkan, reigned by King Zanterian. On Adarkis, Miliana expanded his territory by founding the Kingdom Metaliana, reigned by King Krtkenn.
Wars, worth to be mentioned, by Vlaanderen Empire are:
- against Kingdom Sparta (not the one you can find listed today among the Kingdoms, but the former Kingdom of Sparta, reigned by King Carot).
- against Kingdom The Martian Wanderers, King Famine.
- against Aussie Funk, King Brokse.
- against 7 Clan and allies, as Order of Templar Knights.
- against Heaven Empire and allies..
Before the war against Heaven Empire, the Protectorates of Vlaanderen Empire were been given their full independency.
After the war against Heaven Empire, the Order of Templar Knights was disband.
Emperor Duke of Doom
Part 2: The Dawn of a New Reign
Vlaanderen lay in ruins after the war with 7Clan and allies. Although we initially were on the winning hand and had almost destroyed them, we were left with little strength to withstand all their allies who joined in.
Emperor Duke and his son, High King Lord Legolas of Vlaanderen II, were counted among the fallen, since they stood in the frontline of our defenses as the enemy charged in. But they were founded half-alive on after the battle and returned to their homeland for recovery. Regents were appointed in Vlaanderen and Vlaanderen II to rule as they rested.
Vlaanderen recovered quickly, but apparently not fast enough for before we were recovered, the war with Heaven Empire started. Lord legolas took back the crown of Vlaanderen II as High King and his duty as its defender, for the defenses of Regent Papillon had already fallen. Meanwhile he joined in the peace negotiation between Emperor Duke and the enemy. His defenses fell again, but peace had been achieved.
Yet again, Vlaanderen Empire was broken and swords exchanged for hammers and axes to rebuild what had been destroyed.
Many higher ranked vassals from Vlaanderen urged the Emperor to cancel all stances for a while and start over, so we could rebuild in peace and regain or former strength before we charged in again. Which was done, but Emperor Duke soon restored the Defensive Alliances with Rome and Tirshatha. Which brought us in another conflict, for Tirshatha Empire was soon attacked. The Emperor ordered everyone to defend Tirshatha as was agreed in the DA, but found that only a few vassals were able to send a few troops. The Emperor himself could not even send an army. But Vlaanderen had already been brought into the war and was under attack, again. Many vassals started to complain, many also left, even Duke Abaddon, second-in-command of Vlaanderen II, perished. A loss to great to describe.
The Emperor, seeing that he had lost most of the trust of his vassals, cancelled all stances and passed on the crown to his son, Lord Legolas Pendragon, who re-organized the Empire, passed a few new laws and created the Imperial Council. A body of Advisors who would advise him in important decisions. He appointed Duke Aerthim as his Imperial Domestic Advisor, Duke Conan as his Royal Domestic Advisor of Vlaanderen II. Together they started working in the internal affairs and rules for Vlaanderen Empire. Duke Aerthim even went on tour across Vlaanderen Empire, his goal: getting a closer bond between the different Kingdoms of the Empire. Meanwhile, Duke Conan and the Emperor daily discussed about the Empire, how to make it better. Duke Thaydren was appointed War Duke and committed himself to every military aspect of the Empire. Since that day, Vlaanderen Empire has been rebuilding. Now, Vlaanderen Has almost regained his former glory and power.
The Imperial Army of Lord Legolas Pendragon is larger then ever before and vassals are told to get their defenses up in case diplomacy fails. Vlaanderen is returning...
We took the Kingdom Krondor under our protection and later they joined the Empire.
We took The Archangel`s Land, lead by King DarkRonin, former Baron of Vlaanderen II, under our protection, for they had brutally been raided, even after their defeat, a most dishonourable act of UndeadKnight.
Actually we have returned and we will fight for honour and justice. We will protect the weak...
Part 3: The Second Reign of Emperor Duke of Doom
Emperor Lord Legolas Pendragon and the Empress had sad news, which put them in an impossible position to continue to reign the Empire. Emperor Lord Legolas Pendragon passed back the Imperial Crown to his father, Emperor Duke of Doom. The Vlaanderen Empire continued to rebuild, to grow and to expand.
King Darkronin who had rejoined the Vlaanderen Empire with his Kingdom, The Archangel`s Land, founded a second Kingdom, The Archangel`s Legion. He crowned his loyal Vassal, Lord Bellathor, as King of The Archangel`s Legion. They formed an independent entity of the Vlaanderen Empire under leadership of King Darkronin.
Duke ConanHC went overseas to explore the Elderis continent. He proclaimed a piece of land and founded the Kingdom Luxembourg. He found a Lord ready and capable of leading the Kingdom. Lord Praxx was appointed Governor of Elderis and crowned by Emperor Duke of Doom as King of Luxembourg. Duke ConanHC returned to Adarkis.
After months of survival raids and fighting wars, Governor Praxx gained respect of other Lords on Elderis. On the diplomatic level, King Praxx got help of his most loyal Lord, Lord Mistery002. Duke Mistery002 became the Imperial Ambassador of Vlaanderen Empire on Elderis.
King Magpie of the Kingdom Defenders of Imogen had a meeting with Governor Praxx. Both Sovereigns concluded that it was better to merge forces and from that moment on, the Kingdom Defenders of Imogen became part of the Vlaanderen Empire.
Several months later, another Lord, King Myrivion of the Kingdom The Truth and leader of the Monastic Order approached Governor Praxx to discuss State Affairs. The Monastic Order, which represented the Kingdom The Truth and the Kingdom The Knights of Avalon, expressed the wish to become part of the Vlaanderen Empire if they could keep their independent status, which was accepted by Emperor Duke of Doom. From that moment forward, the Monastic Order became part of the Vlaanderen Empire, but always kept their legacy and independency. Vlaanderen Empire started to become respected on the continent of Elderis.
In the meantime, Lord Morus71 followed the example of Duke ConanHC. Duke Morus71 went also overseas to explore the continent Merlidia. He proclaimed a piece of land and founded the Kingdom The Dragons with Lord Maximus XIII as King. Duke Morus71 returned to the Adarkian Realm after his job was done on the continent of Merlidia.
King Maximus XIII was appointed Governor of Merlidia and Lord CoolD became the Imperial Ambassador of Vlaanderen Empire on Merlidia. The struggles for surviving on the continent Merlidia, were hard, but Governor Maximus XIII did it. Soon a Kingdom The Dark Dragon, under the reign of Queen Drache who sought up Governor Maximus XIII to discuss State Affairs, joined the Vlaanderen Empire.
On the continent Elderis the Kingdom Fyndhorn Seere negotiated with King Myrivion to become part of the Monastic Order, which they finally did.
On Adarkis King Bob of the Kingdom Neverland and King Jacknight of the Brotherhood of Arms, had an audience with Emperor Duke of Doom. The outcome of that audience was obvious; both Kingdoms became part of the Vlaanderen Empire. Several months later, Duke Aerthim felled the urge to create his own Kingdom. Kingdom Bretonnia was born. Months later the Kingdom Black Chalice, reigned by King Sylvos, and the Kingdom Dvjorganna Fjalls, reigned by King Deathstar2, sought protection under the wings of the Vlaanderen Empire and pleeded to become part of Vlaanderen Empire.
Due political circumstances on Elderis a Roman Kingdom, the Romans, decided to leave the Roman Empire and to become part of the Vlaanderen Empire.
Vlaanderen Empire was again among the biggest and largest Empires within the Aegian Realm!!! Many feared the power of Vlaanderen Empire.
After an audience with Lord Morus71, the Emperor Duke of Doom inaugurated the Imperial Guard of Vlaanderen Empire, with Lord Morus71 nominated as Captain of his idea. The Imperial Guard watched out over the borders of the Vlaanderen Empire within the Aegian Realm!! They became respected and feared for their accuracy and vigilance!
The Vlaanderen Empire fought battles, joined wars and defended her territory.
Vlaanderen Empire had a Full Military Alliance (FMA) with the Tirshatha Empire under the reign of their founder, Emperor SchadenFreude.
Of this Era the most worthy episode of the Vlaanderen Empire, worth to be mentioned was the joined forces with the Tirshatha Empire to tear apart and break the force of the eternal enemy of the Tirshatha Empire: Fraternitas ad Lucem!!
This war became the second biggest war and longest one, the Vlaanderen Empire fought!! Together with another ally of Tirshatha Empire, Vlaanderen Empire opened the battle! Soon the whole Aegian Realm was on fire!! Fraternitas ad Lucem and their allies versus Tirshatha Empire and their allies!! The war lasted more then a week, no day passed by without battle. Finally a cease-fire was agreed and diplomacy could start. The negotiations were hard and difficult. Hostilities restarted between the remaining Empires on the battlefield. An agreement was achieved, the war ended.
Many, many Provinces, Kingdoms as even Empires lay in ruins. Many Lords and Ladies died on the battlefield or got heavily wounded. The Aegian Realm went through a very dark and chaotic period. Anarchy ruled the Realm of Aegis!! Morons, Assassins, Bandits and Vultures ravaged through the Realm of Adarkis, Elderis and Merlidia!! Many Nobles were murdered. Only after several months the dark clouds above the Aegian Realm passed by. The sky cleared up and little by little order within the Aegian Realm got restored. Normal skirmishes, raids and wars filled the day again.
After the war with Lotus Empire, Lord Morus71 felt the urge to found his own Empire. Encouraged by Emperor Duke of Doom, Lord Morus71 founded, with other Nobles of the Aegian Realm, the Renaissance Dominions Empire!! The Kingdoms Kullcheñmaiwe, Krondor, Brotherhood of Arms and Dvjorganna Fjalls of the Adarkian Realm, the Kingdoms Luxembourg and Defenders of Imogen of the Elderian Realm and the Kingdoms The Dragons and The Dark Dragons of the Merlidian Realm joined the new born Empire of Renaissance Dominions. The Kingdoms Bretonnia and Black Chalice perished from the Adarkian Realm. The Kingdom Romans perished from the Elderian Realm, once given back to the Roman Empire.
The Kingdoms The Archangel`s Land and The Archangel`s Legion regained their independency.
